Will is 9 months old and already crawling and pulling up. Kate did not crawl until 10 1/2 months and didn't pull up until at least 11 months.
On the other hand, Will seems to be much slower at learning how to pick up finger foods or drink confidently from a sippy cup than Kate was.
I don't think I've done much different in raising them. That's why I don't get too concerned about developmental charts and milestones--kids just seem to have an inner time table!

I wonder if having Kate moving around motivates Will to move earlier? Ella showed no interest in walking until Sarah showed up for the sumer and within days Ella was up and toddling around. I was ready to just let her do it on her own timing and not worry about it. Sarah took care of that for me! :-)
i agree - no two children develop the same! Claire too is cruising around much sooner than Skye, but seems a little slower with her speech than Skye was.
I have always heard that each child may reach the goals sooner being motivated by the other children. Although some older children may "mommy" the youngest one so he would be slower.
So true! All 5 of mine do everything VERY differently.
All three of my boys are different. It would be nice to have an "owner's manual" for babies, but even with the same parents, they are all different.
My first baby was born 10 days before our friends had a baby. I agonized as I compared these two girls for the first year... the other one did EVERYTHING before mine. The worst of it was that the other girl started walking at 10 months, and Lauren only started at 12 months. (didn't help that everybody at church was always oohing and aahing over HER) After having 2 more of my own & really seeing how kids develop at their own pace, I realize how needlessly I suffered!
