My little girl is really growing up! She has lost two teeth recently, and next week, she starts Grade 1! So we took a mother-daughter trip to Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan last Saturday for some exploration and quality time together. Historically francophone, the town of Gravelbourg bills itself as "A Touch of Europe on the Prairies"

Showing off her gap!

On the drive back, we pulled over at a "Point of Interest"

I was so moved by what I read on this sign about the Old Wives Massacre. If you click on the photo, it will enlarge and you can read about how the Cree grandmothers sacrificed themselves so the rest of their tribe could escape from the Blackfoot. Then again, the sign says it's a legend, so who knows if it really happened that way.
